'SCAPE'

EDINBURGH FESTIVAL FRINGE

AUGUST 2025

"A Fringe debut, SCAPE is a beautiful way to honour the impact of a lost dad."

- The Scotsman

"The real highlight of the performance, it's final moment. Here, [Sophie Vincent] performs a moving monologue in unison with 'Father', outlining the responsibility of having a child, and this recognizing the selflessness of his fatherhood."

- The Scotsman

 AUDIENCE REVIEWS

"An eerily beautiful take on memory and grief"

- Jeremy R

"Fringe Multimedia theatre at its finest. Offering a stark depiction of grief (tinged with moments of black humour),  SCAPE sees a masterful Sophie Vincent bare all in a deeply personal expose of emotion and longing. When is it time to let go? Are you damaging yourself by holding on? All these questions and more bubble to the surface in this haunting, well acted psych drama.

"

- Mitchell H

"This is one of those shows that just stays with you. Whereas other shows I’ve seen at fringe absorb my attention in the hours following the performance. SCAPE feels like it’s just been sitting in the room with me everywhere I’ve gone since, keeping me company but making no demands. Quite easily one of my favorite shows I’ve seen here."

- Declan

"Very moving performance by Sophie Vincent who delivers her text in a near trance that had me fixated - the play explores grief and not wanting to let go and how one can create rituals to maintain the link with the departed. The technical work that has gone into it with the videotapes playing in the background is amazing and the director Kendall has shown tremendous courage in exposing a very intimate part of her personal history. A must see"
